Next: Wednesday, 17 June 2026
Vināyaka Caturthī is the monthly vrata of Lord Gaṇeśa on the Caturthī (fourth tithi) of the waxing fortnight, when worship is offered at madhyāhna, the midday.
It is the waxing-moon counterpart of Sankaṣṭī Caturthī, which falls in the waning fortnight and is broken at moonrise. The grandest of the year, in the month of Bhādrapada, is kept as Gaṇeśa Caturthī.
The day is observed with a fast, the worship of Gaṇeśa and the offering of modaka, invoking the remover of obstacles before any new undertaking.
Here Vināyaka Caturthī is placed on the day the śukla Caturthī prevails at midday, computed for your own location.
